Un Escalator pour Echafaudage
James Andean and Kate McHugh used built structures as the inspiration for their piece 'Un Escalator pour Echafaudage'. The recordings, including an escalator, made around Kiasma Museum of Contemporary Art were edited into short separate loops, and, using a variety of different speakers and actuators, played through the built structure of a piano. (See photos below) The pedal of the piano was pressed down allowing the loops to resonate freely through the sounding board of the piano. (Listen to the recording below )
